A security assistant can help an analyst work through an incident. An offensive assessment asks whether the underlying application or control can be abused. Those are different jobs, and a sensible enterprise architecture can use both.
Start with the decision being supported
Microsoft describes Security Copilot as generative AI for security and IT teams. Its product context is assistance and agentic security operations across the Microsoft ecosystem. That is not the same procurement question as commissioning an authorized application pentest. Define whether the immediate need is analyst productivity, investigation support or exploit validation. Avoid a vendor-versus-vendor headline that implies the two products provide identical coverage or should replace each other.
Use offensive evidence to test an assumption
Suppose operations believes that an assistant’s access policy prevents a low-privilege user from initiating a sensitive workflow. Give FailSafe an approved synthetic scenario and ask for a controlled validation of that boundary. The result may show a denied action, a demonstrable weakness or insufficient evidence. Each outcome can inform the security team without pretending the assessment is an incident detector or a replacement for response tooling.
Keep integration claims honest
A report can be useful to a Microsoft-centered security team without a dedicated product integration. Agree how evidence will reach the receiving workflow: a restricted report, an existing ticket process or a separately validated connector. Do not imply a Microsoft partnership, endorsement, co-development program or native integration from an internal strategy document. Public product claims need their own support and commercial commitments need to appear in the proposal.
Bring sensitive inference into architecture review
The fact that two products use AI does not settle their processing or retention boundaries. Ask which data enters each service and which identity can read its outputs. FailSafe offers model-choice and customer-controlled deployment discussions for the offensive workflow. Evaluate that design alongside existing enterprise policies. Keep model benchmark results separate from claims about investigation quality, operational response or the behavior of a different security assistant.
Keep the two security jobs separate
| Decision | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Primary job | Investigation assistance versus authorized exploit validation |
| Evidence transfer | Approved report or separately verified connector |
| Architecture | Identities, inference, retention and support boundaries |
Where offensive evidence fits
Use FailSafe to produce offensive evidence about applications and AI-system boundaries, then route that evidence into the security operations process your organization already trusts. Evaluate any integration or private deployment as an explicit project.
Start with FailSafe deployment options, SWARM and the GlassBreak cyber model. For a side-by-side assessment, plan a matched evaluation. Custom enterprise deployment is scoped separately from the first-pentest offer.
