FailSafe at the Forefront: Highlights from Events across the Globe

4 min read

In the month of March, FailSafe had the privilege to participate in three landmark events that brought together the world’s brightest minds in cybersecurity, blockchain, and AI: the Black Swan Summit in Perth, the Blockchain Cybersecurity Salon in Singapore, and CNBC’s Converge. Here’s a closer look at our journey through these forums.

Black Swan Summit: Navigating Uncertainty with Bold Innovation

The inaugural Black Swan Summit is a global foresight laboratory designed to tackle rare, high-impact events—spanning the themes of security, AI, quantum, and digital assets. Organized by the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), the summit attracted over 300 influential voices from 35 countries, including CEOs, technologists, academics, and policymakers.

With a strong emphasis on rigorous research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and actionable insights, the summit explored three core areas:

  • Understanding & Mitigating Risks: Identifying critical vulnerabilities through research-driven analysis and scenario planning.
  • Collaborative Solutions: Shaping frameworks that address technological, financial, and policy challenges.
  • Driving Innovation: Unlocking opportunities through advancements in AI, quantum computing, and climate tech.

FailSafe’s Panel: Cyber & Resilience at the Cusp of Blockchain, AI, and Quantum

Titled “From Security to Continuity: Cyber & Resilience at the Cusp of Blockchain, AI, and Quantum,” FailSafe’s panel covered the urgent need for agile, forward-looking solutions to tackle the cybersecurity crisis we face today.

Speaker: Aneirin Flynn (CEO of FailSafe)

Cybersecurity Salon: Fortifying Web3 Security for Blockchain Enterprises

The Blockchain Cybersecurity Salon, organized by the Blockchain Association Singapore’s Cybersecurity Subcommittee, gathered over 50 industry leaders, security experts, and developers for an in-depth exploration of the evolving challenges in blockchain security. As blockchain adoption continues to surge, so do the risks and vulnerabilities inherent in its landscape.

A Convergence of Thought Leaders

Keynote speaker Ms. Tan Bin Ru, President of Enterprise Digital at ST Engineering and Chairwoman of the Blockchain Association Singapore, set the tone by outlining the critical challenges faced by Singapore’s thriving blockchain ecosystem. Highlighting the nation’s focus on continuous upskilling and innovation, she stressed, “Without sustained innovation, the region risks losing its competitive edge.”

A Panel of Pioneers

The event reached a crescendo with a compelling panel discussion that featured esteemed experts from across the industry, including our very own CEO, Aneirin Flynn. Alongside other thought leaders—Dennis Song (CTO, Mind Network), Guannan Li (Global Information Security Risk Governance at Binance), Jag Foo (Partner at Safeheron), Tan Bin Ru, and Thomas Kung (CRCO/CISO, Rakkar Digital)—the panel dissected the nuances between blockchain and traditional security. Their discussions on the recent hacks, wallet security, smart contract vulnerabilities, and asset recovery not only highlighted pressing concerns but also charted a course for actionable, future-proof strategies.

For FailSafe, the Cybersecurity Salon was a reaffirmation of our dedication to pioneering solutions that secure and empower the decentralized world of blockchain. The shared insights and collaborative spirit of the event have already sparked new ideas and innovations within our team.

CNBC Converge: AI’s Threats & Opportunities

At CNBC Converge, discussions centered on ensuring AI investments deliver clear, measurable ROI rather than simply being about deploying the latest tools. Organizations are now focused on rigorously evaluating AI initiatives to drive operational efficiency and secure tangible business value, rather than succumbing to hype.

Equally important is establishing trust in AI agents. Building this trust means implementing robust testing, ensuring transparency, and continuously monitoring AI systems to keep their outputs reliable and free from bias. For us at FailSafe, this approach is key to integrating AI responsibly into business operations.

A major concern raised was whether AI has tipped the scales in favor of attackers. While AI’s rapid processing and advanced capabilities indeed empower malicious actors to launch more sophisticated attacks, these same technologies also offer the means to enhance our defenses. Balancing AI’s dual-edged nature is essential for leveraging its benefits while mitigating its risks.

Looking Ahead: Innovating for a Resilient Future

Actively participating in events enriches our perspective, allows us to come closer to pain points and policymakers, and reinforces our commitment to shaping a secure, innovative, and resilient future. We believe that collaboration is the key to overcoming the challenges of tomorrow.

We are excited to continue this journey of innovation and collaboration, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cybersecurity and technology. Stay tuned for more updates as we translate these insights into actionable solutions that drive progress and safeguard the digital frontier.
